Rangel released figures highlighting recent data that show that the Affordable Care Act expands mental health and substance use disorder benefits and federal parity protections for approximately 60 million Americans – including almost 3 million New Yorkers – representing one of the largest expansions of mental health and substance use disorder coverage in a generation. Rangel initially sponsored the Affordable Care Act when he was the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
