THE MORAL CRISIS OF OUR COUNTRY & BUDGET CUTS

WHAT: Since the beginning of the year, Congressman Rangel has been stating that the federal budget is not merely a political issue, but a moral issue. He believes that as a nation, and whether you're a Catholic or Protestant, Jew or Muslim, we all have a moral obligation to help the poor, the aged, and the sick. We cannot cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, at a time when the richest 1% of Americans own 42% of our country's wealth. Everyone has to pay their fair share. We have to close the gap of income inequality between the top 1% and the 99% of Americans who are suffering.
