The Rangel Resolution
Thank you to all those who particpated in my first Rangel Resolution. Join me this Super Bowl Sunday, with my Rangel Super Smoothie Bowl to kick off Rangel Resolution 2.0
Spring is quickly approaching and while that means we have sunny weather and green grass to look forward to, it also means that Spring is quickly approaching, and it's a good time to recommit to our New Year's resolutions to get healthier. On March 2, 2015, Congressman Rangel will adopt the Rangel Resolution, a 30-day commitment to three easy-to-follow rules that encourage a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about food inequality in the United States.
These three rules show that a healthy lifestyle can be easy and sustainable. However, while healthy eating is a choice for most people in our nation, for many others it is not an option. Food inequality means that many communities do not have access to healthy, affordable food. We must commit to ensuring that healthy food is affordable, accessible, and available to everyone. When Americans have access to healthy foods, they have access to the tools needed to fight preventable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and childhood obesity.
Sign up here to join the Rangel Resolution and adopt these three rules for 30 days starting March 2, 2015. When you sign up, you will be provided with daily tips from our supporting organizations, the American Heart and Diabetes Associations. You will also receive suggestions and motivation from the Congressman and be entered into the following contest:
1) Everyone who submits a testimonial about their experience from joining the Rangel Resolution will receive a signed note of congratulations from Congressman Rangel.
2) The participant with the best testimonial (determined by popular vote) will receive a phone call from Congressman Rangel himself.
Option to submit your recipe:
We will be compiling a recipe book of smoothies and healthy breakfast ideas with submissions from participants.
1) Everyone who submits a smoothie or breakfast recipe will receive the Rangel Resolution Recipe eBook - a compilation of the best recipes submitted.
2) The creator of the best recipe (determined by popular vote) will receive personal recognition from the Congressman.
Supporting Organizations: American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, West Harlem Group Assistance, LISC NYC, Hot Bread Kitchen, Food Bank for New York City, and Bronx Health REACH.
